Something about Miranda By Diane Mela Souvanna
A newlywed and locked
into a position that deleted my already limited acting opportunities, I saw an ad.
Bellingham Cable 8 was advertising, After pumping out 5 episodes with ease, I returned to Cable 8 to present my idea. I was given a budget and began to work. I surprised myself, learning more than I ever intended. From writer, producer, director, editor and everything in between, I did it all. Camera, lights, sound, publicity director, you name it. I was a regular one-woman show. Today, having just graduated Summa Cum Laude, upgrading my Bachelor of Arts Degree with an Associates of Science degree, I am back in the saddle again. Using all digital formatting, with the help of Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Dreamweaver, and various online editing tools and functions, and returning back to Cable 8 in Bellingham, she is back! Miranda was one of the most educational and fulfilling experiences of my life. Inspired by the television shows of yesteryear, Miranda emerged as a cross between I Love Lucy, Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie, with a heavy load of Dark Shadows. Vampire, werewolf, evil twin, wizard, and zombies grace the scenes. To add even more bizarre to the mix, as strange as it may sound, Miranda was semi-autobiographical. No, I was not abducted by an alien. But I was an extremely lonely newlywed, and still very naïve. Strange situations always seemed to find me, and my good-natured attitude was that you have two choices in life. You can laugh or you can cry. I chose to laugh. And Miranda was my outlet for humor. I love her dearly for gracing my life. And I am looking forward to working with her again. Stay tuned! Sincerely,
