LOOK
BEFORE CROSSING
|
The
"Look Before Crossing" CD is more of a guitar based compilation than "The
Tales Of Pamula." Yes, there are plenty of vocals from Pamela, and her doing her own
harmonies, but her guitar work is very prominent on this CD. A lot of gritty guitar
work shows Pamela at her finest. If you think she is regaled to rhythm guitar you are
foolishly mistaken, as her guitar solos are right up there with the best. On the opening
track, we hear her ripping through a blues based original called "BABY'S OUT
TONIGHT. With a mix of two gripping guitar solos, one a slide, the other a slinky,
fast paced vibrato style, makes the song soar to perfection. "Give Me
What You Got" is a rocker from the get go. The lead guitars are fast and
melodic, pulsating the song at warp speed.. All the songs on "Look Before
Crossing" are written by Ms. Davis, who knows how to get to the heart of her
songs. Two instrumentals are featured and yet are totally different in style. "Twangin' " is an acoustic guitar, folksy in nature. The other, "Out On The Highway" is a fast moving type driving song, that really begs the listener to reeve their car engines, roll down the windows, volume blasting, out on that highway. The bonus tracks on this new version are all from the video show "Look Before Crossing." The half hour video comprised of Pamela performing live, interviews, short skits, and music videos. All bonus tracks are from the live section of the show with Pamela singing and accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. She is performing acoustically featured songs from this CD solo, which gives them a completely different approach. Listening track to track on "Look Before Crossing,"takes one through a musical journey, rich in textures mined from life's landscapes. If you have not heard Pamela Davis' "Look Before Crossing," take a moment to download some of the MP3s offered on this page. You will be glad you did.
